 Despite its name, Bumblebee Jasper is not technically a true jasper.

 This remarkable material originates almost exclusively from the volcanic regions of West Java, Indonesia, near the slopes of Mount Papandayan, an active volcano known for its sulfur-rich fumaroles and hydrothermal activity.

 For centuries, local communities have lived alongside these volcanic landscapes where sulfur extraction remains an important industry. Bumblebee Jasper forms in highly unusual geological conditions where volcanic gases, mineral-rich fluids, sulfur deposits, calcite, aragonite, and other minerals interact over time.
