Sea Sediment Jasper (also called Aqua Terra Jasper) forms from mineral-rich sediment layers that once rested beneath prehistoric oceans. Over millennia, silica and quartz fused with clay and trace minerals, creating the stone’s gentle blues, greens, creams, and coral marbling.

Most deposits are found in China, Indonesia, and Madagascar, though similar material appears in Australia and the western United States.

Because of its name, it’s often confused with Ocean Jasper, but unlike that orbicular variety, Sea Sediment Jasper shows layered and streaked patterns, not circular formations.
