Ancient Sky & Earth

Turquoise is one of the most treasured gemstones in history. With its blue-green color, earthy matrix, and ancient symbolism, Hubei Turquoise carries the feeling of sky, water, and land in one stone.

These bracelets features natural Hubei Turquoise from China, known for its beautiful range of robin’s egg blue, seafoam green, blue-green tones, and rich mineral matrix. Each stone bead feels timeless, grounding, and full of character.

At Moe Gems, I chose Hubei Turquoise because it holds one of the deepest histories of any gemstone. Across cultures, turquoise has long been associated with protection, vitality, communication, and the connection between Heaven and Earth.

Origin & History

This turquoise originates from Hubei Province, China, one of the world’s most important turquoise-producing regions.

Turquoise has been used for thousands of years by ancient Egyptian, Persian, Tibetan, Chinese, Native American, and other cultures. In China, turquoise has been carved and worn for more than 3,000 years as adornment, protection, and ceremonial material.

Historically, turquoise was often worn by travelers, warriors, healers, and spiritual leaders. It was valued not only for beauty, but for its traditional connection to protection, vitality, communication, and harmony between sky and earth.

  • Formation: Forms when groundwater interacts with copper-rich deposits
  • Color Sources: Copper creates blue tones. Iron often creates greener tones. Matrix minerals create brown, black, gray, or burgundy inclusions.

Stone Character & Appearance

These stones showcases the natural beauty Hubei Turquoise is known for: soft robin’s egg blue, seafoam green, blue-green transitions, earthy matrix, and mineral-rich inclusions.

The darker brown and burgundy matrix seen in some beads is part of the host rock and mineral environment where the turquoise formed. These natural patterns are not flaws. They are part of the stone’s character and make every bracelet one of a kind.

Stone Support & Traditional Perspectives

Turquoise has one of the richest traditional histories of any gemstone. Across many cultures, it has been associated with protection, vitality, communication, safe travel, and spiritual connection.

In modern Stone Medicine and TCM-inspired gemstone work, Turquoise is often viewed as gently cooling, harmonizing, and protective. It is traditionally associated with the throat region, emotional expression, stress recovery, and restoring connection between the body, mind, and voice.

These are traditional energetic associations, not medical claims.

Why This Mineral Matters

Turquoise is a copper-bearing phosphate mineral.

Copper has long been symbolically associated with movement, flow, circulation, and energetic conductivity. Phosphate minerals are often connected symbolically with vitality, structure, and renewal.

Together, these mineral qualities help explain why Turquoise has been traditionally associated with vitality, protection, communication, and healthy energetic movement.

Why Moe Chose This Stone

Turquoise has always felt powerful to me.

It is one of those stones that carries beauty, history, and presence all at once. I love that Hubei Turquoise can show soft sky blue, green, earthy matrix, and mineral-rich patterns in a single strand.

To me, Turquoise feels like protection with soul. It carries the energy of ancient jewelry, desert landscapes, sacred adornment, and timeless style.

That is why Hubei Turquoise earned a place in the Moe Gems collection.
