Super Seven Quartz (Amethyst with Lepidocrocite Inclusions)
NOTE on: Understanding Super Seven Quartz
Unfortunately, much of the material sold as “Super Seven” today may be misrepresented, dyed, or sourced from unrelated deposits. Genuine Super Seven Quartz will always show natural internal inclusions that appear suspended within the crystal itself, not surface coloring or artificial coatings.
Super Seven Quartz is a natural amethyst-based quartz originating from Espírito Santo, Brazil, known for containing iron-rich mineral inclusions (where quartz formed alongside minerals such as Amethyst, Clear Quartz, Smoky Quartz, Lepidocrocite, Hematite, Goethite, and occasionally Rutile) formed during crystal growth millions of years ago.
Despite the name, it is important to understand that not every stone bead contains all seven individual minerals. The term “Super Seven” refers to the original Brazilian deposit and mineral family, not a literal guarantee of seven visible minerals in each bead.
These stone beads are natural amethyst quartz containing genuine lepidocrocite and iron oxide inclusions. These internal formations developed naturally and remain permanently preserved within the crystal structure.
This material is correctly classified within the Super Seven Quartz family and reflects authentic formation from the original Brazilian deposit region.
At Moe Gems, every stone is represented honestly and transparently, exactly as it formed in nature.
Veil of Inner Strength
Please note: 1) Sizing Info below; 2) Bead sizes and inclusion patterns vary naturally — no two stone beads or bracelets/necklaces are exactly alike; 3) Photos are taken in different lighting to capture the stone’s true personality, but screen settings and light can shift the exact tones you see in person.
Origin & History
Super Seven Quartz originates primarily from Espírito Santo, Brazil, a region long known for producing exceptional amethyst and quartz crystals. These stones formed within hydrothermal pockets deep underground, where silica-rich fluids cooled slowly, allowing quartz crystals to grow over millions of years.
During this process, iron-rich minerals such as lepidocrocite, hematite, and goethite became naturally trapped within the quartz structure. Rather than disrupting the crystal, these inclusions were preserved, creating layered internal formations that remain visible today.
Brazil has been one of the world’s most important sources of amethyst and quartz since the colonial period. Indigenous cultures of South America valued quartz crystals for ceremonial and symbolic purposes, often associating them with clarity, protection, and communication between physical and spiritual realms.
Amethyst itself has been revered for over 4,000 years, used in ancient Egypt, Greece, and Rome. The name amethyst comes from the Greek word amethystos, meaning “not intoxicated,” reflecting its historical association with clarity and emotional steadiness.
Super Seven represents a rare convergence of multiple mineral growth phases preserved within a single quartz structure.
Also known as:
- Super Seven Quartz
- Melody Stone
- Sacred Seven
- Lepidocrocite-Included Amethyst
- Iron-Included Amethyst
- Cacoxenite Quartz (trade-associated term)
Notes:
- Base mineral: Quartz (SiO₂)
- Primary variety: Amethyst (purple quartz)
- Mohs hardness: 7
- Formation: Hydrothermal quartz formation
-
Inclusions present in these stones:
- Lepidocrocite (iron oxide mineral)
- Hematite-family iron inclusions
- Iron oxide and iron hydroxide minerals
Stone Character & Appearance
Each stone bead reveals natural internal plumes, veils, and layered inclusions suspended within transparent to translucent amethyst quartz.
The reddish-bronze inclusions are lepidocrocite and iron oxide minerals, formed before or during quartz crystallization. These inclusions remain permanently preserved within the crystal, acting as geological records of formation.
Some stone beads show:
- Deep violet amethyst zones
- Soft lavender transparency
- Internal bronze, copper, or rust-colored inclusions
- Natural veils and growth formations
These stones show clear evidence of:
- Amethyst base quartz
- Lepidocrocite inclusions
- Iron oxide inclusions
- Possible goethite-family inclusions
The rarest and most valuable Super Seven typically contains visible lepidocrocite inclusions, which makes these stones Premium and Desirable!
These inclusions confirm authenticity and natural origin. They cannot be artificially replicated.
Eastern Healing Perspectives
Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM)
Quartz crystals, including amethyst, are referenced in modern lineage-style Chinese stone traditions such as Stone Medicine: A Chinese Medical Guide to Healing with Gems and Minerals.
Amethyst and iron-bearing quartz are energetically associated with calming Shen, supporting emotional regulation, and helping stabilize energetic imbalances associated with stress, depletion, and overwork.
Purple stones are symbolically associated with calming excess Yang energy and restoring energetic equilibrium.
Iron-bearing inclusions connect symbolically with Blood and Kidney energetic systems, which in TCM theory govern vitality, endurance, and recovery.
TCM Notes on Medical Healing (energetically associated with support of):
- Traditionally associated with calming Shen and supporting emotional balance
- Energetically linked with supporting Kidney energy, associated with fatigue, burnout, and long-term depletion
- Symbolically associated with calming excess Liver Yang patterns related to headaches and nervous tension
- Traditionally associated with stabilizing energetic imbalances during emotional or physical stress
TCM Pairings:
- Nephrite Jade — associated with constitutional vitality and Kidney support
- Amethyst — associated with calming Shen and promoting rest
Ayurveda
In Ayurvedic energetic systems, amethyst is associated with calming excess Pitta energy, which governs heat, inflammation, and overstimulation.
Iron-bearing minerals symbolically align with grounding and stabilizing the body’s energetic foundation.
Ayurveda Notes on Medical Healing (energetically associated with support of):
- Traditionally associated with calming nervous system overstimulation
- Energetically linked with promoting emotional clarity and stability
- Symbolically associated with restoring balance during stress
Recommended Ayurvedic Pairings:
- Moonstone — associated with cooling and emotional balance
- Clear Quartz — associated with amplifying energetic clarity
Other Cultural / Indigenous Uses
- Quartz crystals were used by Indigenous cultures of the Americas for ceremonial and symbolic purposes, associated with clarity, communication, and spiritual awareness.
- Amethyst was worn historically by Egyptian and Roman civilizations as a protective and stabilizing stone.
Western Metaphysical Perspective
Super Seven Quartz is traditionally associated with integration, stability, and clarity.
It is often chosen during periods of emotional transformation, fatigue recovery, and personal transition.
Pairings:
- Labradorite — associated with resilience and transition
- Smoky Quartz — associated with grounding and nervous system support
Cleansing & Charging
Super Seven Quartz is durable and stable due to its quartz base.
Cleanse:
- Moonlight
- Selenite
- Smoke cleansing
- Gentle water rinse (safe due to quartz hardness)
Charge:
- Moonlight is ideal
- Selenite is highly compatible
Care Notes
- Safe in water
- Avoid prolonged impact
- Avoid ultrasonic cleaners if inclusions are heavy
Sunlight is safe in moderation but prolonged exposure may slowly fade amethyst coloration over very long periods.
